In my eyes... World Snooker Championship 2011 (Review)

Great tournament, it scored massive viewing figures worldwide

Peak viewing figures on BBC was 6.6 million (Final session of session) which is the best figure in the past five years. Average viewing figure of the final was 3.9 million, which is 50% higher than last year! Over 27.1 million watched World Championship in the UK, huge numbers.

In China, semi-final between Ding Junhui v Judd Trump caught Chinese attention. Second session of their match reached average 19.4 million on CCTV5 while the peak is at 30 million. It is the highest rated sport programme of the year in China.

Judd Trump brought excitement to the game

Though Trump lost to John Higgins in the world final. But it does - catches public attention towards snooker.

He gained fame, someone even said 'He is the new Ronnie O'Sullivan'. The 21-year-old Bristol boy brings more young people paying attention to snooker. Trump is still very young and have many chances to archive. A star is born :)

Ding Junhui proved that he can make comebacks

' Chinese Hero' Ding Junhui cameback from 9-12 down on Stuart Bingham to win 13-12. He breaks his best result in the Crucible for reaching Semi-final for the first time.
Thought he lost to Trump in Semi-final, but he tried his best in that match. He can win the world champion in the future. He can take the pressure to make comeback.

Domination of John Higgins

Higgins dominated the seasion after his returns in December. He continued his domination at the end of the season by winning his fourth world title. Please admire the Scotsman - It is never easy to win a tournament after the suspension and under pressure.

The Rocket Returns

We saw the correct Rocket returns.
Ronnie O'Sullivan stopped at Quarter-Final but his playing attitude was very encouraging. He plays right shots and tried his best in the matches. He saw things in right direction.
We need this Ronnie back in the next season :)

We are lucky to have a legend stay in the game
Stephen Hendry nearly quitted the game because he was in danger of dropping out of top 16 due to his 2nd round lost to Mark Selby. Luckily the defeat of Bingham helped him to secure a top 16 spot. It will be a lost to the game if Hendry retired...

Your family is always there for you

Denise: Don't cry, baby
Family supports are always the motivation of players to win. Mark Allen won the decider over Matthew Stevens from 6-9 down; he kissed his little daughter Lauren for joy. Judd Trump's family always watch Trump to play in the Crucible; they cheered up for Judd. John Higgins cried for winning the world title; his wife and the kids comfort him. Your family is always there for you :) Don't forget to thank them!

My pick for the tournament:

Match of the tournament: Ding Junhui v Judd Trump

Best player in the tournament: John Higgins

Most disappointing player in the tournament: Stephen Maguire

Break of the tournament: Unbelievable 47 by Ding Junhui, Frame 28 in Semi-Final against Judd Trump
