PTC6 (Warsaw Classic) Day 3 - Robertson Succeed in Poland

Come to the last day of PTC6 (Warsaw Classic), a winner is produced and he is Neil Robertson. Robertson captured his first ranking title PTC6 after winning World Open last September.
Robertson won PTC6 in a superb form
Robertson was in unbeatable form today and has won two consecutive deciders against Stephen Maguire and Shaun Murphy before whitwashing Stephen Lee in the semi-finals. Robertson made three centuries 114, 113 and 103 in four high standard matches. he played in. The Thunder From Under eventually saw off Ricky Walden in the final by 4-1 with 95, 76 and 69 to capture PTC6 title as well as pocketed 10000 euro for the first prize.

Robertson edged out Maguire in decider
Robertson is delighted with his win carrying ranking points that helped me to move to world number four, ''I had been on a good run of form recently with a couple of semi-finals and I was really disappointed to lose in the semis of the Shanghai Masters. That was a wake up call because you have to be efficient in the final stages of tournaments. It's all about winning them because that's what you'll be remembered for. So I'm really pleased to convert this one.''

Snooker grows rapidly in Poland
Robertson is pleased with the Poland crowd too and hope Poland will hold a ranking event very soon: "That makes it easier to play because it gives you a buzz, and hopefully the people who came will go away with good memories. In Germany it took a few years for the support to grow and now we have a full ranking event there, so hopefully something similar can happen in Poland."

Legend (Photo from Andrzei Kowalski)
Runner-up Ricky Walden beaten Steve Davis 4-3 in the semi-finals coming from 2-3 down. Although The Nugget lost in semi-finals and nearly reached to play the final but he gave us surprises today. Davis won the marathon 4-3 lasted four hours agaisnt Mark King in the last 16 before heading to the quarter-finals with Jack Lisowski. The Nugget only had a very short period of time to rest but he still came through to beat Liswoski 4-3. The marvellous run of the legend was ended by Walden 3-4. Steve has been the perfect ambassador for the game for over 30 years, and long may it continue.

PTC6 (Warsaw Classic) Day 2 - Fabulous Last 16 Line-up

Day 2 of PTC6 (Warsaw Classic) in Poland - We have a great finalized last 16 line-up after today's competition.

Maguire completed his revenge over Hamilton
Maguire had poor runs in the recent PTCs and ranking tournaments. Maguire lost in the first round of the last four ranking tournaments after reaching the final of Welsh Open in February including his defeat to Anthony Hamilton in decider on Shanghai Masters last month. Maguire took his revenge in last 32 today by beating Hamilton 4-3 from two frames behind. Later Maguire won another decider against Michael Holt to secure a spot in last 16.

Maguire needs to win his match against in last 16 to keep himself stay in the top 8. Hopefully it will be another great match as Stephen and Neil displayed five centuries in a row on their last meeting in 2009 Masters.

Kacper Filipiak played his first pro century before the locals
Poland's young talent Kacper Filipiak showed the locals his best though he lost 2-4 to David Gilbert. Filipiak played his first pro century 100 in the first frame on the TV table - this is unbelievable from a 15-year-old player. However David Gilbert played better snooker than Filipiak by missing maximum on the brown in the fourth frame.

Shaun Murphy will also compete in the last 16 by winning over Adam Duffy, Stuart Carrington who outplayed Matthew Stevens in Round 1 and Jak Jones. Superb Xiao Guodong reached another last 16 in the PTC6 by beating James Wattana. Fergal O'Brien, Paul Davision, Ricky Walden and PTC3 winner Ben Wollaston are in the last 16.

PTC6 (Warsaw Classic) Day 1 - Masters Line-up is Determined

Day 1 of PTC6 in Poland kicked off today but today we mainly focus on the confirmation of 16 Masters spots in January!

Masters Dream comes true for Gould
Martin Gould will make his first appearance in The Masters next January as he ranks number 16 in the coming cut-off point. The 30-year-old makes his world rankings getting into the top 16 for the first time in his career despite his unexpected defeat to Liu Chuang 3-4 in the first round today - Mark Davis who was a few points behind failed to win three matches today in order to overcome Gould for ranking number 16 for the first time.
The Masters will move to Alexandra Palace
Number 16 means that The Pinner Potter will be automatically seeded in December's UK Championship, Germany Masters in February and indeed the Masters. "I would love to play at the Masters because I've always considered it one of the biggest tournaments, and it's my home event as I live in London. It's for the elite players and it's all about prestige. I've watched it from a distance for a long time so to play in it would be fantastic."

Lee will return to top 16
World Number 14 Stephen Lee and Number 15 Matthew Stevens  will make their return to the Masters this year. As you know Lee and Stevens are great players who topped in the world rankings in the past before dropping out of top 16 in 2008 and 2007 respectively. I am pleased to see both of them returning to the elite top 16. Lee was the runner-up of the Masters in 2008 and even Stevens won the title in 2000. Big congratulations for their effort!

The fans' favourites Ronnie O'Sullivan who has secured his Masters spot as well as Judd Trump will appear in Alexandra Palace in January. However, seven-times world champion Stephen Hendry will be out of the Masters since 1987/1988 season.

Back to the actions of the boys in Poland: Impressive Chinese player Chen Zhe won the decider against Rory McLeod coming from 0-3 down, the defeat costs McLeod out of top 32. Chen's run is ended by Mark King in the last 32. Judd Trump safely landed in the last 16 on Sunday after winning the serious challenge from China's Tian Pengfei in the second round.

Steve Davis who played with a new cue accidentally (his cue went missing on the flight) still managed to enter the last 16. Jack Lisowski will return on Sunday to battle for a quarter-finals spot after winning his TV match against Stuart Bingham in the second round. Stephen Lee, Liang Wenbo, Matthew Selt, Liu Chuang are the ones among who continue their journey in Poland on Sunday.
